Why I Hate Lego Bricks

I am going to tell my story of why I hate Lego bricks with pictures. You will only be able to feel me if I tell the story with pictures.

It started out innocent enough. A box of Lego bricks here, a box of Lego bricks there. But when you put all of those boxes together, which to date equals six of all three varieties, it makes a huge mess.

These are only the Duplo variety out here. Four boxes of Duplo blocks.

As if the mess were not enough, let me assure you I really do possess that many boxes of Lego bricks and they really do come in three different flavors.

First we have the Quatro Lego bricks. HUGE blocks as you can see for the 1-3 age range.

The next step is the Duplo Lego bricks. For the 2-5 age range. Here is where we are vomiting Lego bricks. We currently possess three large boxes of Lego bricks not to mention about four-five sets. The sets are the ones like to build a castle or to build an airport.

Lastly we have the regular Lego bricks. Four and up range. Do you see how many that box holds? ONE THOUSAND. Just in that one box. We have another box of this size as well.

Now, one last thing. You may be thinking, "If she hates Lego bricks so much, why in the world is she living in LegoLand?" One word, Mark. Yes you see my lovely husband handed down his genetic freakiness. The love of the Lego. Just to prove my point, I ventured up into the attic where we have some things stored. There you will find Mark's Lego bricks. Yes vintage Lego bricks.

Not only vintage, but also each set is in a clear plastic Ziploc baggie. All Ziplocs are stored in lidded Rubbermaid containers. Now these Legoe bricks we are not allowed to play with. According to Mark, we do not respect the Lego bricks yet.

If you look closely you will see the tiny Lego pieces and you will see the Ziploc baggies. Notice also that we have THREE of these.

No we do not respect the Lego bricks. Me least of all. I think if I sold all the Lego bricks we have. I would be able to afford a cruise all by myself. One free of Lego bricks.

You forgot to mention that each individual ziploc bag also contains the original instruction booklet for that particular set.

Oh. My. Lord.

That would be because I did not know that. I am not allowed near the Legos. I tried to touch the boxes but they burned my hands...

Then this errie voice said, "Thou doth not respect thy Legos."

My house is similarly overrun with comic books. I'll trade.

I love Lego

I haven't undulged this love, yet, as far as Julian is concerned (we have a very small amount of the Lego bricks at present-the Duplo ones which I consider to be "not real") and I have not yet ventured into the attic atop of my parents garage to find the Lego of my childhood.

I'll Do It Better In My Next Thirty years

Today is doomsday. At 9:05 a.m on this very day thirty years ago my mother gave birth to me. I have done the "Holy crap, where did the years go?" I have done the "When did *I* get so freaking old?" I have cried and been mad and upset. I have looked at my life and realized it was NOT what I thought it would be at thirty. In both good and bad ways. I have run the gamut, so to speak and frankly now I am worn completely out. I am done. I went through getting old sucks . I spent time reminiscing about Swatch watches from back in the day. I have shed tears over my babies not being babies anymore . I tired to stop thirty from coming and realized that it was inevitable. I even got my friends to realize that we are indeed getting old. So today, as I move on in life and have to start checking a new box on forms, I still stand by my very first post on getting older. I think Tim McGraw has it right. My Next Thirty Years I think I'll take a moment, celebrate my age The en...

It Is Official...

I am now officially a participant in the NaBloPoMo . What is this you ask? It is an alternative to National Novel Writing Month, otherwise known as, NaNoWriMo . The goal of NaNoWriMo is to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. Since I lack focus, which some like to call adult ADD, there is no way I could do that. So, enter NaBloPoMo. Besides sounding funnier, it is a much more doable thing for me. The goal of this? Post an entry to my blog every day for the entire month of November. You heard it folks. You will be blessed with some random something from me EVERY DAY for the ENTIRE month of November. I am even on the Official List. I am, really. You can go look. Now you may be asking yourself how you got so lucky. And I can not give you the answer to that. All I can say is that you can look forward to me rambling about basically nothing for the whole month. So sit back and enjoy the ride. Now, if I could only figure out how the hell to put up my button and get it to hy...
