Ten Years

Happy Anniversary.......... We made it to ten years. I can not wait for ten more. You rock. (in more ways than one.) All my love, Your Wife for now and always

How Much Longer?

Late again this week. But since it was late last week, well I figured it was okay. Since I know Kiki is looking for these anyway. I present bambino at 15 weeks. I have been putting all the pictures into a Tabblo. Like a collage. I may even order a copy once this is all said and done. You can click it to see it larger. See my Tabblo> That's all folks!

Blessed

We often have songs that speak to us. Some for a moment, some for a lifetime. Some that remind us of how we felt, where we were, what was going in our lives at that moment. I have many songs over the years that I relate to certain events or moments in my life. Songs that serve as memories. I can hear that particular song and be transported back to that very time and place. I can be who I was at that instant in time and remember how I felt. This song however came out years ago. I moved on from my country music phase. But this song, the lyrics, are still alive in me today. Blessed~ Martina McBride I get kissed by the sun each morning Put my feet on a hardwood floor I get to hear my children laughing Down the hall through the bedroom door Sometimes I sit on my front porch swing Just soaking up the day I think to myself, I think to myself this world is a beautiful place I have been blessed And I feel like I've found my way I thank God for all I've been given At the end of every day

Go Figure

In a strange way it makes sense. Davis was low on diapers so I stopped to get some Friday afternoon. Saturday morning he decided to potty train. No joke. As in, he felt the need to go, went in on the potty chair by himself and then ran in to show me his potty in the bowl. He did this two more times Saturday without me telling him to go. No accidents. Sunday morning, he went once before we left for church and then by default he went in his diaper the rest of the day because we were out. Yesterday all day he put his pee pee in the potty chair. I left him in his boxers overnight because the diaper was bothering him but he woke up and came to my bed early in the morning in which I strapped on a diaper. Today he is in underwear and we will see how this day goes. If he keeps it up Davis will have trained in a weekend. What is funny is that I am of the mind of letting the kid figure it out. Emma did, though she was just over two. One day she said she needed to make potty and she did

Davis and His Baggie Part Two

Here is a picture of Davis and his baggie. I apologize as it was taken with a camera phone and well........it is not so great. But this is how Davis drags his baggie behind him every time we leave the house. It is purple. And he loves it. A lot.

We Just Keep Growing

This is the 14 week shot. I know it is late. But I am wondering how many people are looking for these anyway? I will say that right now as my stomach gets larger my butt and legs look smaller. There is the upside. For now.

Beauty Through The Eyes Of A Mother

Davis and His Baggie

Anyone remember Linus and his blanket? He dragged it everywhere. If you watched the Peanuts (You know Charlie Brown) you remember Linus and his silly blanket. Neither of my kids had lovies really. They both used binkies and gave them up at three for Emma and two and a half for Davis. They went though stages (still do) liking certain things and only wanting to play with or watch those things. They never really latched onto one thing so much though that is caused them to have a nervous break down if they could not find it. Until now. Davis discovered a small backpack the other day. It is a mini one, much like the one we have used for some time as his diaper bag. Yes I am aware that he is over three and should be using the toilet. I do not care to discuss that right now. We have used this bag to carry a change of clothes, diapers, wipes, snacks, whatever we need for the outing. The one we use is light gray. The one Davis found was new and purple. We dubbed this HIS baggie.

For The Love Of.......Coffee

What Davis looks like before his morning cup o' joe Deciding between the small or large size Rough morning, need the large, the mug is almost as big as his head Ahhh........how he loves his coffee Emma does not "do" coffee. She has pink lemonade in her mug. If she keeps losing teeth, she will be eating baby food Yes Davis does indeed have coffee in his mug. I made some this morning to go with my breakfast, hummus on toast. I was able to drink it today, weak coffee and almost a third of it was half and half. I am not a no caffeine while pregnant person, it has just not sat well with me this time. Today it was fine. Davis however deiced he needed the larger mug and stole the rest of mine instead of drinking his cup. He is Costa Rican. He has been drinking coffee on occasion since he was two. And only Costa Rican coffee. Do not give him Starbucks or Folgers. He will be insulted.

Happy Mother's Day

At our house we will be feasting on a lunch tomorrow. The most surprising part of it is that I am making it. I am a baker, not a cook. So for me to be in charge of more than just dessert......does not happen very often. Here is tomorrow's lunch menu: ~Bread with a Roasted Garlic Butter Spread (yes I roasted the garlic and made the spread myself) ~Apple Avocado Salad with Tangerine Dressing (made the dressing and it has blue cheese and walnuts...yum) ~Cous Cous (boxed plain I will add seasonings) ~Roasted Leg of Lamb (marinating in a roasted garlic/rosemary/ lemon paste) and for dessert... ~Cashew Crusted Key Lime Pie with a Whipped Cream Fruit Coulis the whipped cream is heavy cream, sugar and orange zest) And that should complete our Mother's Day meal. How impressed are you? Notice that the dessert has the longest title. I told you I was the baker.... Happy Mother's Day to all you mommies! Hope it is a great day!

Look What I Can Do

Davis has gotten really into Thomas lately. I realized we could start Thomas with our On Demand digital cable and Davis really likes it. He sits still. We have had trains, the wooden kind, for some time. Davis will get some of it out and play and build his own little track. He seems to act out the stories he has seen on Thomas. I went into his room today to find him doing the same thing and decided I will build a big track. My goal was to use as many of the pieces as possible and use all the bridges. Everyone knows going up and going under the bridges is the best. I think I did a decent job. There were very few pieces left over. It takes up a good chuck of space and Davis has a good sized room. Here is my masterpiece. Even our dog Max wanted to play. And in order to get the whole track in the picture I had to use my wide angle lens. Awesome.

Lucky Thirteen

Here is the thirteen week belly shot. I am in maternity clothes for the most part now. They make me look even bigger, if that is possible. The good thing is my belly makes my butt look smaller. It is all an allusion.... And this is why I ended up pregnant again. He may be ornery and active but man he sure is handsome. Emma is growing her own garden courtesy of Target's Dollar Spot. As you can see in the picture she has them all lined up on the window sill in the dining room. They are all labeled below the pot. We now have sunflowers, marigolds, daisies, tomatoes, and basil attempting to grow. She is taking good care of them so far too. We got the marigolds first and they have sprouted already. Ah, life with kids. Who knew how interesting it would be?

How You Know

Maybe for some people being pregnant hits them when they see the two lines, or plus sign or digital read out saying pregnant, on the test they take. Maybe some people get it when they go to their confirmation appointment. Maybe when they get an early ultrasound. Maybe when they see the baby further along or when they hear the heartbeat for the first time. Yea. I am not any of those people. Here is Abby's list. I know I am pregnant when.... 1) I make a sandwich with the following ingredients: turkey, American cheese, wing sauce, and blue cheese dressing. I smear butter on the outer slices of bread, smear the wing sauce and blue cheese on the inner part of the bread, put the cheese and turkey in the middle and grill it in the Foreman grill. Yum, it was delicious. 2) I watch 90210 while eating my breakfast. I have seen this episode what? Five or six hundred times by now right? It happens to be the one where Dr. Martin, Donna Martin's dad dies. I cry. A lot. Not only do I cry thro

Love Thursday

Mark and I did not dance at our wedding. We talked about what song we would dance to and we never really agreed on a song anyway. We also are not dancers. I have a variety of songs on my mp3 player. I listen to them when I am baking cookies. One of the songs I have on there is When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss. I have heard this song many times over the years and it was the song *I* wanted at our wedding. Mark has always been a man of few words. It is who he is. He is not a guy who talks about his feelings non stop. Probably fairly typical for a guy. The last few times I have heard this song it reminds me of Mark. More so these days than ever before. It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart Without saying a word you can light up the dark Try as I may I could never explain What I hear when you don't say a thing The smile on your face lets me know that you need me There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me The touch of your hand says

Houston, We're Having A Baby

Yesterday we saw the baby. He or she was moving around a lot and stretched out in there. Making himself/herself comfy it appeared. Only one baby has taken up residency, so everyone can stop asking if there are twins. I just get big. We also heard the heartbeat. Strong and fast. The kids got to see the baby and hear the heart as well. Emma thought it was awesome, Davis did not care. I think that is how they both feel about the baby as well. Since we took both of the kids, we realized we will not do that again. After the appointment and wrestling the kids, Mark looked at me after seeing this baby move so much and said, "Great. We are having another hyperactive child just like you." I figure we are even. The odds are in his favor that this kid will look just like him.

One Thrid Of The Way There

Here is the 12 week shot. I go tomorrow for my 12 week appointment. I am hoping we get to hear a little heart beat thumping away. It seems everything is going okay since I am getting bigger. I hear of these people saying they want the so called baby bump. I wonder what it is like to have to wait to show? Emma told me yesterday that she wanted the baby to get here soon. The other day at Target the lady in front of us had a baby boy, probably about six months old, and Emma told me she wanted a baby brother. I told her she had one and she said she would take another. I guess this time I do not have to worry about her wanting to leave the baby at the hospital if it is born with a penis. Good to know. Davis is a whole 'nother ball of wax.........
