Happy Mother's Day

At our house we will be feasting on a lunch tomorrow. The most surprising part of it is that I am making it. I am a baker, not a cook. So for me to be in charge of more than just dessert......does not happen very often. Here is tomorrow's lunch menu: ~Bread with a Roasted Garlic Butter Spread (yes I roasted the garlic and made the spread myself) ~Apple Avocado Salad with Tangerine Dressing (made the dressing and it has blue cheese and walnuts...yum) ~Cous Cous (boxed plain I will add seasonings) ~Roasted Leg of Lamb (marinating in a roasted garlic/rosemary/ lemon paste) and for dessert... ~Cashew Crusted Key Lime Pie with a Whipped Cream Fruit Coulis the whipped cream is heavy cream, sugar and orange zest) And that should complete our Mother's Day meal. How impressed are you? Notice that the dessert has the longest title. I told you I was the baker.... Happy Mother's Day to all you mommies! Hope it is a great day!

Round Here

I know I have been missing lately. Today will just be a quick overview of life here. Nothing fancy or thought provoking. My mind is wiped. My mom came through surgery fine. We will know more Thursday once she gets results back. To those who are wondering, my mom has bladder cancer and they were removing the tumor yesterday. Now it must be biopsied to see what stage she is in and figure out if she will require more treatment. She had some chemo put straight into her bladder yesterday. The prayer now is that she will not need any further treatment and that she is in Stage 1. Now we have to get her to quit smoking...... I am missing my camera. It is funny how when you have it you can forget to take pictures for days, even weeks. But once you no longer have one, you see all these opportunities to take some really awesome pictures. We are shopping around and trying to find a good camera for a good price. I am wanting something a little more fancy that my last one. Something m...

I Am Still Around These Parts

My mother is having surgery on Monday. I made a post about it over at 451 Press . I promise I am not abandoning this blog. Over at 451 Press I can only write about certain things and I do not want to post pictures and such. This will still be my main blog and the same goofy, odd things I come up with will be posted here. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Anna Nicole Smith

When I grow up, I want to be able to see the world as Pastor Adams does. This is a man who can and does see God in everything. Pastor Adams posted on Anna Nicole Smith and her untimely and shocking death. I could not say it any better than he does and he sums up my feelings exactly. Beautifully written and full of truth. Go read what he has to say, because he said it all.

You Think The Miracle Whip Is Bad.....

You think the Miracle Whip is bad, check out the Doritos label... I think the Mircale Whip is the least of my concerns here. **If the label is diifcult to read you can go here and see it as well.**

A Shout Out

Dawn has dropped by a few times and even left comments! I checked her out ( Helllloooo stalker!) and you all should take a look. I have to say her photography is what drew me in. She has more sites and you can find links to them on her page. To make is easy for you here they are (though I am only putting what I *think* is her main blogging page on my links bar): Little Moments Photography Dawn's 365 Project Little Moments Captured Beautiful photography. However, I seriously may need to figure out Blog rolling . Isn't it somehow easier to add people with that???

De-Lurking Week

I forgot too that it was delurking week. Thanks for reminding me Amanda . Here you go... And by that I mean, if you are reading, leave a comment. Anyone can leave comments you just have to click anonymous and sign your name. My sister does it all the time. Come on, you know you want to......

We're Sorry To Interrupt Your Program

This is the post for today. No pictures, no stories, nothing. I have either eaten something my body is heavily rejecting (diarrhea) or I have some sort of stomach virus (more diarrhea). I also have nice, painful stomach cramps. (and more diarrhea) I will be alternating my time today between the couch and the toilet. I do not know yet if I will do much of anything else. I will give it another hour or so and then I will consult the Pepto. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.......

Obsessed Over Cars

Today I ventured out with the masses again. We are having nice weather here and I was on a mission. One that I do not think I will complete. I get myself all worked up. Once my kids get into something I become obsessed with it. Right now with Emma is it Littlest Pet Shops. Or Hello Kitty. Nothing too hard to find and this year I did a good job finding a bunch of it. Even the Target only tin with all the different pets, including the beloved ferret that she has been asking for for two years. Davis is very into Cars right now. And seeing as to how I am super obsessed with these things and totally give into the marketing, I have been searching and finding various Cars related things for him for Christmas. The cool thing is he is getting a fleece blanket and a little suitcase both of which he can actually use. My issue has been finding Cars wrapping paper. I think I will not find it. Which is okay. I have plain red paper and I got some stickers. So I can make my own paper. Y...

Have You Ever....

Have you ever waited for something for so long that even though it may be closer to your reach, you just can not wait any longer? Have you ever dealt with something that was so difficult it has forever jaded you? Both of these things were brought to mind over the last couple of days. I have wanted a third child since Davis was six months old. He turns three in a month. I have waited for Mark to be on board with this for those years. And while he is not on board completely, he is closer to it. But I have already waited for two and a half years. And I do not know how much longer the wait may be. I turned thirty this week. My kids are going to be seven and three. I just do not know if I can wait another year or longer. And Mark has no idea if or when the time will feel right. I view it this way. It is as if it we started to read the same book. Only I read to Chapter 8 and Mark was still in Chapter 1. Meanwhile, this was over the course of three years. I began to read a little slower...

Greg Page Announces He Is Leaving The Wiggles

Mark informed me yesterday that the Yellow Wiggle, Greg Page, was sick and may have to stop being a member of the Wiggles. I waited until I got more official news of the situation before I posted about it. It saddens me deeply to discover today that Greg is leaving the Wiggles . We have been Wiggle fans since Emma was about two. Attending a concert in August of 2003 in St. Louis and also one in May of this year here in Kansas City. Greg has a health condition that while not life threatening causes him to be unable to dance and sing. He will be leaving the Wiggles and handing over Yellow Wiggle duty to Sam Moran who has been his understudy. You can watch Greg's announcement on video . From us to you Greg, we hope you get better and we have loved seeing you with the Wiggles. Take care of yourself.

Must.... Sleep.... Now....

We were up and at Wally World at five o'clock this morning. We hit more stores, sales ,and the mall before taking in breakfast around nine this morning. We rested, ate some lunch and then headed back out late this afternoon into the evening. Needless to say, no long post or pictures or anything tonight. Just hoping everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know ours was the best one yet.

Saturday's Mindless Fluff

In my mindless fluff post for the week..... I think that now that Britney Spears is divorcing K-Fed, Justin Timberlake will take her back. He has been with Cameron Diaz for a long time (three or four years I think) and nothing? I believe he is still in love with Britney. And to further support my claim, I will also say that I think that Justin Timberlake's new song My Love was written with Brit-Brit in mind. Go read the lyrics . Now, if I wrote you a love note And made you smile with every word I wrote (what would you do?) Would that make you want to change your scene And wanna be the one on my team (tell me, would you?) See, what's the point of waiting anymore? Cause girl I've never been more sure (that baby, it's you) This ring here represents my heart And everything that you've been waiting for (just say "I do") Hmmmm.....change your scene? And if Timberlake wrote T.I's rap lyrics as well? Not to mention how many times it is said that no other girl ...

Mind Numbing Nothing

My good friend Shannon told me last night as we were at a Girl's Night Out, that she wished I would post about something that was just mindless. Seems she thinks I get too deep on here sometimes. So here is some mindless rubble for you. I am a celebrity news junkie. I love me some People magazine. So, for this week here is my round up and favorite tidbits of celebrity "news". First I have to say I am upset at the break-up of Reese and Ryan . Now I do not care much for Ryan as he skives me a bit but I really thought they had a good thing going. Guess not. This threw me for a loop though and I did not see it coming. Second, way to go Britney . About time you got rid of K-Fed. Yuck. They say this video is when he got the news by text. Which is by far the funniest thing in celebrity gossip this week. So there you go, some mindless rubble for you to chew on. I know it is not "news" nor is it new, but it is mindless.

Tagged by Judy

I was tagged by Judy a few days ago. I am finally filling it out. What is/are YOUR:Easy how-to ways to beat a bad mood? Depends. If the kids are here, running around the house screaming. If Mark is here, some t.v. and ice cream. Sometimes I just need a good cry. Never-fail lip color? Um, Blistex? Personality type (via myersbriggs )? ISFJ Greatest strengths and weaknesses (like in a job interview)? I have never been interviewed for a job so I have no idea. I am easy to talk to, but I lack an ability to look people in the eye while I am speaking. Names of the trees in your yard? Big, old, tress. I do not know what they are. Mother-in-law's favorite flower? I really have no idea. She loves the greenery of plants. I would imagine she would like any flower. And taken from Karrie , I tag anyone who is reading.

Screw Election Day, don't you know what today is?

Well besides the fact that today was the day that I got to have my yearly woman exam (YAY for me...right) today is the day Disney/Pixars Cars comes out on DVD. So while I say screw the elections, I will go ahead and stop by and cast my vote on my way to pick up our new movie. And just for information's sake, looks like it is projected that the Democrats will win MO this year...

Sometimes There Are No Words

Last night I met a new friend. Let me preface this by saying I have made exactly ONE new friend in the last ten years. This makes number two. My Babycenter and Blogging friend Amanda , was having a conference in KC. We made plans to meet up. I felt a bit odd. Here I was making plans to meet someone I only knew from the Net. But Mark thought it was perfectly great and even said for me to stay out as long as I wanted. He said it was not as if I was meeting up with someone I saw often. Stay out and talk and have fun. So I did. I made plans to meet with Amanda. I knew we had a lot in common. Both from the board and from reading her blog. I knew she was someone who if she lived closer to me we could hang out. But I was a bit apprehensive. Here was someone who only knew me through the computer. So many what if's , right? Mark was actually the one who said I should meet with her, if only for a little while. So, I picked Amanda up at her hotel and off we went to Fooleries. Great place to ...

I updated to Blogger Beta today. You can now see fun new colors to liven up the page. Also in the sidebar is a new Labels section, titled Help For The Lost. You can go there, click on a label and it will take you to posts that I put into that category and only that category. The new Blogger Beta rocks because it is much simplier to use. No more using HTML codes, just drag and click. Hope you all (if there are any of you reading this thing) enjoy the new look!
