I know I have been missing lately. Today will just be a quick overview of life here. Nothing fancy or thought provoking. My mind is wiped.
My mom came through surgery fine. We will know more Thursday once she gets results back. To those who are wondering, my mom has bladder cancer and they were removing the tumor yesterday. Now it must be biopsied to see what stage she is in and figure out if she will require more treatment. She had some chemo put straight into her bladder yesterday. The prayer now is that she will not need any further treatment and that she is in Stage 1. Now we have to get her to quit smoking......
I am missing my camera. It is funny how when you have it you can forget to take pictures for days, even weeks. But once you no longer have one, you see all these opportunities to take some really awesome pictures. We are shopping around and trying to find a good camera for a good price. I am wanting something a little more fancy that my last one. Something more than point and shoot. Digital SLR's run fairly high price wise though. I think we have found one that will fulfill my lust of photography. It is the Fuji Film Fine Pix S5200. It has some awesome features and you can purchase filters and other lens for it as well. It is a bit bulky, but I do not mind that at all. I do not think it is technically a SLR camera but comes close. Now it is a matter of finding it at the best price. And then once I do, you can bet there will be some interesting photography put on this blog.
For now, I took some pictures the other day with Emma's camera. I am a product of my society for sure. It takes Emma's camera a bit between shots. Not more than a few seconds but it is definitely not ready to shoot immediately again. My camera did have that. I could take pictures quickly. Not Emma's camera. I found myself getting frustrated with it. Then I found myself getting frustrated for being frustrated. I put her camera up and continued with my baking. Here is what pictures look like with Emma's camera.
The flash is too bright and it is not in focus. Davis is eating butter cream frosting........
Davis looks like he is glowing.....Casper the Friendly Ghost.
I tried to darken it some. I do not have any fancy photo editing software. I work better in a dark room anyway...but as you can see, the picture is not so great.
That it is. I need to find a new camera.
I have more baking to do today. Valentine's Day cookies to be delivered to Mark's office for his co-workers. It is tax season too so I do not know if they even get to eat. So I am sending in a mass of sugar cookies. Sure to brighten any ones day.

Hope you are able to find a good deal on a camera. I would go nuts without mine - but you are right, when it's right there I don't think to use it but when I can't get to it the pictures are everywhere!

We ended up ordering the Fuji camera. Found it for a decent price. Then I also ordered some other lens' and filters for it too. I really hope it is a great camera and gives me more flexibilty then my old point and shoot did. May she rest in peace....
The camera looks great - for the price it really has a lot of flexibility. I can't wait to see your new images!

It means a lot to me that you think the camera looks good. Digital SLR's are super expensive and for what I do....not an option. But this one looks like it will suit me just fine.....
