Coffee Talk

Maybe I am the only one that is this way. But does anyone else ONLY use a certain cup for their coffee? I know Mark does. And I use my Mickey Mouse mug. Always. Unless we have company and then sometimes I do not.

My mug is from my sister-in-law. She actually bought me a pink Minnie Mouse one and Mark the yellow Mickey Mouse one. I had them on a mug tree for a while. Then when my aunt came over and helped me fix up my house, we redid (or maybe just actually DID) the kitchen, that mug tree went away. I was using Mark's Mickey Mouse mug because it was the one that was out. The kitchen is blue and yellow.

Mark uses a VW mug. We got if for having to wait when we were getting our Volkswagen Jetta wagon TDI. BEAUTIFUL car.....too bad we leased it and then decided to trade it in. Anyway, the car salesman taking care of us gave us some free stuff because our wait had been so long. This blue transparent mug was one of them. We got that car in 2003. Mark has used that mug for his coffee every since.

Mark also uses the same mug at work for his coffee. It is his In and Out mug.

Any other coffee drinkers out there? Do you use the same mug every day for your coffee? I wonder why that is. It is not that we do not have any other mugs. For some reason I just always want to use that particular mug for my coffee.

Davis uses his Costa Rica mug for his coffee. Even though this picture is from last summer (2005). That was his first cup o' joe. Yes folks, my kid started drinking coffee at 18 months. They are Latin, what did you expect?

OH, yes. I have a special mug. 2, actually, that are just alike. Big, clear glass. My husband has a special mug, too - those "soup bowl" style coffee mugs.

I hate when there's company and I can't have my own mug. :(

Whew.....glad to know there are other crazy people out there. Then again, Judy, I already knew you were. (;

Now if we only had you here so you could meet with Amanda and myself....we could have a whole lot of crazy going on!

It's funny how these things happen. We went on holiday to a caravan on the Atlantic coast in France. Everything like plates and pans and cups were included, only the cups were these tiny microscopic, 10 ml coffee holders. In the first day we had to find something better but of course in a holday resort there are no proper shops.
Anyway we found this small micro-supermarket cum general store and there they had six cups all with a seperate fruit design. There were only four of us so I insisted we selected the top four and leave the other two.
These are really thin porceline like tall thin elegant mugs (made in Thailand). Within 24 hours I realised I had never had such a great cup to drink coffee out of. We returned to the store but in vain, the remaining cups were gone, lost forever, I still think if only. Now despite having a cupboard of cups it's never as good as when it's from one of these.

And Just Like That.....

I made the fatal mistake of reading reviews and articles before watching a single episode of the show.  I knew full well I would watch every episode regardless.  I read anyway.  Spoilers? Not bothered.   Let me give some back story here.   At 17/18 my dream had been to go to a big city (Chicago was my thinking at the time), get my degree in journalism/editing/publishing and go work at a big time magazine.  Keep in mind we are talking about the mid 90's here so the idea that magazines would cease to be relevant was not even on my radar.  I had been editor of my high school yearbook and unbeknownst to me at the time, we were actually doing the yearbook by coding and would get printouts hoping we had coded copy correctly.  I just typed the copy I was supposed to type with the weird little codes that had been given to me on a piece of paper.  I would later discover this was actually HTML code we were doing.  Who knew?  This fu...

Why Choose It?

Judy posted a comment about being jealous at two weekends away from the kids. About how she figured it would be a long time before she got that chance. I have to admit, I thought better her than me to have the new baby. After our two weekends away and Mark joking that it was his ploy to convince me to not have anymore, I have to say.....I think it worked. After thinking about it and being able to get away so easily because the kids are bigger, I could not help but think, why go back and do it all again? If you had a choice between going out of town for the weekend or being stuck, tied down to a newborn who was feeding from your breasts every two hours and waking every three ,which would you choose? To which one might say why ever have kids at all.....fine. I have TWO. I have done it TWICE. Not only that, but for anyone who cares about it, I have one of each. One is almost seven, the other almost three. Granted Davis is not potty trained yet, but he does change his own diaper sometimes...
