I Get So Emotional

Do you ever have days where you just feel like crying? For no real reason. Or maybe there are so many things that you finally decide to just cry and get it out?

I think sometimes in life we go along and refuse to let ourselves feel anything. I know I have had trouble controlling my emotions. Anywhere from crying to depression to anger. It is hard to get a handle on them. I have spent a lot of time in prayer to God over this very issue. I think in all of that, in the fight to keep everything at bay, I forgot one part. Emotions are a good thing. God gave them to us for a reason. We just need to learn to control them.

I think in my battle to control my emotions, I took it to the other side almost. I decided it would be best to not feel anything. Maybe I needed to do that in order to feel in a more healthy way. I am not sure.

Today it seems a lot of things hit all at once and a part of me wants to curl up in bed, pull the covers over my head, and cry all day. Not for any one reason. For a whole host of reasons.

Instead, I think I will take a bath, let some tears fall and feel for a bit, then have some coffee and read in the Bible. After that, if I have not gotten the weepies to go away, I will curl up on the couch for a bit with both of my kids. Nothing can cure a case of the weepies like those two can.

Maybe this is why God gave us emotions. If we can cry and feel sad, then we can also smile and feel happiness and love. I will take the tears any day as long as I know, I can get the love when they are wiped away.

Oh man, I've been weepy all week. I just don't have time to sit and cry it out. I know how you feel though. Nothing feels better than cuddling with the little ones. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Why Choose It?

Judy posted a comment about being jealous at two weekends away from the kids. About how she figured it would be a long time before she got that chance. I have to admit, I thought better her than me to have the new baby. After our two weekends away and Mark joking that it was his ploy to convince me to not have anymore, I have to say.....I think it worked. After thinking about it and being able to get away so easily because the kids are bigger, I could not help but think, why go back and do it all again? If you had a choice between going out of town for the weekend or being stuck, tied down to a newborn who was feeding from your breasts every two hours and waking every three ,which would you choose? To which one might say why ever have kids at all.....fine. I have TWO. I have done it TWICE. Not only that, but for anyone who cares about it, I have one of each. One is almost seven, the other almost three. Granted Davis is not potty trained yet, but he does change his own diaper sometimes...

Shameless Confession

I love to read. I have since I was little. I also have a bad habit of getting completely engrossed in what I am reading. Getting so wrapped up that I can not put the book down until I know what happens. I am still this way. I have no self control when it comes to reading. That is not the shameless part. What is shameless is what I like to read. Chick lit. There I said. I like to read the mindless dribble that is chick lit. Not romance novels. Just your run of the mill chick lit. Over the past couple of weeks I have reignited my love of reading. And I gave into the chick lit. What is it about this genre that does me in? I have found that I enjoy the books that involve being a mom as well. Which makes sense. It is relateable on that level in some way. I can not quite put my finger on the draw. The last three books I have read, I have been able to identify with the main characters in some way. Seeing as to how they were all moms. I also seem to like (this is even more ...
